Angry Birds Uncommitted Players by Maura Bouca – IT University of Copenhagen

This study should be relevant to broaden the thinking about mobile games as meaningful experiences to players in different demographic groups.

In the Introduction section, stated that in 1997, Nokia introduced games in their mobile communication devices for the first time (Wright 2008). Less than 10 years later, smartphones came into the market and, in 2007, they were reaching critical mass, mainly thanks to Apple’s iPhone 1. In 10 years, mobile games evolved from being a modest add-on to mobile phones to being a whole new and lucrative market.

In 1997, engineers hired by mobile phone manufacturers developed the games that could be played in mobile communication devices and the games were included in the phone’s operating system. Nowadays, almost any programmer can develop games for mobile phones, and the revenue goes not only for the mobile phone manufacturer, but also to the game developer.

Mobile games are “games played on mobile platforms such as cell phones, PDAs and dedicated gaming devices (the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, the Nokia N-Gage)” (Davidsson et al. 2004 4). For simplification and focus purposes, this paper will consider “mobile games” only those played in mobile platforms whose main function is not gaming.  This working definition includes, thus, mobile phones, PDAs, portable media players and tablets. It is important to point that portable consoles will be discarded from this working definition not because they are considered to be outside the realm of “mobile gaming technologies”,  but simply because they are, in nature, different from the other mobile devices that are not included in the definition. Their different focus in gaming activities makes them too different to be regarded in the same manner.

PDF is not a user guide / user manual for playing the game Angry Birds. If you need information in playing game developed by Rovio, you will need Angry Birds User Manual which you can download here.

2011 Relative Collision Insurance Cost Information Booklet

Taken from Foreword: Enclosed please find a copy of the February 2011 Relative Collision Insurance Cost Information Booklet provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Pursuant to NHTSA’s regulation in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 582, Insurance Cost Information Regulation, all new vehicle dealers are required to make available to prospective purchasers information regarding comparative insurance costs, based on damage susceptibility and crashworthiness, for makes and models of passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, light trucks, and vans.

We are following the same procedure this year that we have followed over the past 20 years. Your dealership is responsible for reproducing and maintaining a sufficient number of copies of the booklet in your showrooms, so that the booklets can be given to prospective purchasers of new vehicles. These booklets must be available beginning March 30, 2011. As in the past, NHTSA again asks that you please make certain that all sales people at your dealership are aware that this booklet is available in your showroom. To ensure consumer awareness of the availability of this booklet, dealers may choose to follow procedures similar to those they use for displaying the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Gas Mileage Guide, or may use wall posters or other media displays in the dealership to announce that the information is available. This booklet can also be downloaded and printed from the NHTSA Web site at: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/.

From the NHTSA website, click on the “Vehicle Safety” tab, then choose the “Vehicle-Related Theft” category, on that page, under the “Additional Resources Panel”, click on “2011 Comparison of Insurance Costs”. A special printable version of the booklet is available for dealers on the next page.

Various types of car brands are also included in the list of Collision Insurance Losses, such as Honda, Acura, Kia, Toyota, Volvo, Mazda, Chevrolet, Nissan, VolksWagen, Mitsubishi, Lexus, Subaru, Suzuki, Ford, Hyundai, Chrysler, Scion, Saturn, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Mercury, Dodge, Saab, Infiniti, Lincoln, Jaguar, BMW, GMC, Pontiac, Buick, Porsche, and Jeep.

Concepts, Techniques, and Models of Computer Programming User Manual

This ebook is written together by Peter Van Roy from Universite catholique de Louvain (at Louvain-la-Neuve) Swedish Institute of Computer Science and Seif Haridi from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) Swedish Institute of Computer Science on June 5, 2003. This ebook consists of 939 pages and informs regarding general computation models, declarative programming techniques, message-passing concurrency, specialized computation models, and semantic to Mozart system development environment.

In the Introduction section, there is stated that programming is telling a computer how it should do its job. This chapter gives a gentle, hands-on introduction to many of the most important concepts in programming. We assume you have had some previous exposure to computers. Tektronix IPTV User Guide

Taken from introduction:

The Digital Video Broadcasting Project was founded in 1993. The initial task was to develop a complete suite of digital satellite, cable, and terrestrial broadcasting technologies in one ‘pre-standardization’ body. The DVB Project was formed from broadcasters and equipment manufacturers and made use of ETSI standards for the physical layers, error correction, and transport for each delivery medium.

The cornerstone of the technology was the transport mechanism, the MPEG-2 Transport Stream. This ISO/IEC standards based mechanism defines the syntax and semantics of a bit stream in which packetized digital video and audio are carried, along with the timing mechanisms which allow the signals to be decoded by a set-top box (STB). This work has become the foundation of IPTV systems having provided a well documented and reliable data transport arrangement for the delivery of video over various physical layers.
